Edgewood Alliance Church, 3137 E. Center Street in North Kingsville celebrated its 25th anniversary with a picnic, games and hayride on Aug. 25, and a special worship service and symbolic mortgage-burning on Aug. 26.

 Kingsville Township garage construction manager David Payne told Kingsville Township trustees at their 7 p.m. Aug. 22 meeting that the building is unlikely to meet the December completion deadline.
“We’re a little behind,” he said. “The building will be up, but we won’t meet the deadline.”

City of Conneaut Comments on Councilman's Arrest

Citing possible liability issues, Conneaut City Manager Jim Hockaday said that a statement he issued Aug. 29 regarding the arrest of Ward 2 Conneaut City Councilman Phil Garcia on Aug. 28 will be the only comment by the city and its employees, including Conneaut City Council.

Akron attorney J. Reid Yoder told Ashtabula County Common Pleas Court Acting Judge David Fuhry on Aug. 30 that his client, Conneaut City Councilman Phil Garcia, intends to fight and defend himself against a 26-count indictment handed down last week by an Ashtabula County grand jury.

City Council Okays Expenditures of Non-Purchase-Order Invoices

CONNEAUT – With Conneaut Finance Director John Williams’ 13 years of perfect city audits on the line, Conneaut City Council passed an ordinance at its 7 p.m. meeting Aug. 13 authorizing Williams to pay several contractors’ invoices, each exceeding $3,000, on materials ordered by several city departments without purchase orders in violation of the Ohio Revised Code.
