COLUMBUS – The press release sent out at 2:06 p.m. July 23 from the governor’s office was brief. It simply stated, “Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has signed House Bill 6, the energy bill passed by the Ohio Senate and Ohio House of Representatives.”

Trustees questioned about recovery house being opened

PAINESVILLE TOWNSHIP – A Meigs Avenue resident expressed concern at the July 16 Board of Trustees meeting about a recovery house being opened on her street and wondered how the trustees could allow it without letting residents know.

AMI program benefits and costs presented to council

PAINESVILLE - Jeff McHugh, the city’s electric superintendent, gave a presentation about American Municipal Power, Inc.’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Program at the July 15 council meeting. It followed the second reading of an ordinance to authorize an agreement with AMP, Inc. regarding its AMI Program.

County hosting Constitution Day Festival

LAKE COUNTY – The Board of Commissioners passed a resolution announcing the Lake County Constitution Day Festival would be held Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Lake County History Center at 415 Riverside Drive in Painesville Township.

Benefit of Better Flip project touted

LAKE COUNTY - Lake County Ohio Port & Economic Development Authority Chairman Art Lindrose addressed the Lake County Board of Commissioners July 11 regarding the “Better Flip” house in Willowick. It was donated by the Lake County Land Reutilization Corporation, commonly known as the Land Bank, and redone and modernized to be more appealing to millennials.
