Spartans finish 10th overall in Division V, Region 17

The Conneaut Spartans finished the season 9-1, but were still unable to claim a play-off spot. The Spartans finished 10th overall in Division V, Region 17.


Conneaut put up 28 points in the opening quarter on their way to a 63-14 win over Cleveland Central Catholic on Saturday, Nov. 2.
Seth Fedor started the scoring with a 3-yard run. Joey Merlene kicked in the extra point, making it 7-0.
Cleveland Central Catholic answered right away with a 70 yard kick-off return by Marquice Baker. The point try was no good as Conneaut led 7-6.
Conneaut went on to score eight straight touchdowns, including three more in the opening quarter.
Fedor added a 30-yard touchdown run to put the Spartans up 14-6 after the point after.
Rylan Davison added an 18-yard touchdown and Chance Ryan scored on a 4-yard run, making it 28-6 at the end of one quarter of action.
Conneaut continued to pile up the points with three more touchdowns in the second quarter. Davidson found Richie Picard for a 3-yard touchdown. The Spartans continued to attack both through the ground and the air. Fedor added his third touchdown on a 10-yard run. Branden Smile then completed an 8-yard touchdown pass to Davison.
Conneaut added two more scores in the third quarter. Fedor capped his night with his fourth rushing touchdown of the game. Ryan added his second touchdown on a 2-yard run.
Terran Mack added a touchdown for CCC in the fourth quarter. The two point run by Jovan Scott made the final score 63-14.
Ryan Davison led the Spartans on the ground with 96 yards on four carries. Seth Fedor added 95 yards on seven carries, Chance Ryan had 37 yards on 4 carries and Hunter Dale added seven yards on one carry. Davison was 5 for 8 passing for 140 yards and one touchdown. Branden Smile went 8 for 9 passing for 134 yards and a score. Aidan Thomas led the Spartans with 4 catches for 111 yards. Richie Picard added three grabs for 52 yards, Davison had two catches for 44 yards, Seth Fedor had two catches for 34 yards, Jay Green had one catch for 17 yards and Tellus Andrews had one catch for 16 yards.
Joey Merlene was a perfect nine for nine on extra point tries.
With the win Conneaut ended the season 9-1 on the year.
