Warriors win in five
ASHTABULA – The Edgewood Warriors were able to pick up their third win of the season with a 14-0 win over Niles.
With the win the Warriors improved to 3-10-1 on the season. Niles fell to 0-13-1.
Edgewood scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning to take an early lead. The Warriors then tacked on one run in the second inning before breaking out in the next two innings.
The Warriors put up five runs in both the third and fourth inning to take a 14-0 lead.
Gabby McNeil pitched four shut-out innings in the win for the Warriors. McNeil gave up only one hit and one walk, while striking out 12 hitters. Julia Carson took the loss for Niles.
Kayla DeGeorge and Gabby McNeil each had two hits for Edgewood in the win. McNeil also drove in a pair of runs to help her cause.
Kristen Drake and DeGeorge each doubled in the win for the Warriors.
