Perry tennis wins three more matches

PERRY - Perry’s tennis team improved to 7-3 on the year with a win over Madison. Perry won all five matches. In first singles, Alex Guthrie (P) shut-out Brandon Ortiz (M) 6-0, 6-0. Dan Walker (P), second singles, also blanked his opponent by beating Andrew Kekelis (M) 6-0, 6-0.

Third singles player, Brennan Sailors (P) did his best to match his teammates and defeated Chris Waldron (M) 6-0, 6-1.

 

In first doubles Mike Walker and Alex Rogaski teamed up for Perry to defeat Adam Griffen and Jake Cassidy of Madison, 6-1, 6-1. Perry’s second doubles pairing of Paul Hughes and Christian Fetica also defeated Madison’s Heath Richardson and Devin Beemiller, 6-0, 6-1.

 

The Pirates mixed things up a little bit for their match against Kirtland. The Pirates replaced normal single players Alex Guthrie, Dan Walker and Brennan Sailors with Jeff Fabis, Troy Kifer, and Tyler West. Although the players were different the results were the same as Perry defeated Kirtland 5-0.

Fabis picked up a win over Alex Heckman (K) 6-0, 6-0. Kifer defeated Sam Harrison (K) 6-0, 6-1. In third singles, Tyler West defeated Matt Bragline (K) 6-0, 6-0.

 

 

Dan Walker and Alex Guthrie (P) paired up in first doubles to best Stan Krulc and Mike Pappas (K), 6-3, 6-3.

In second doubles action, Perry’s, Brennan Sailors and Mike Walker (P) blanked Kirtland’s, Tyler Barbasario and Adam Parker, 6-0, 6-0.

 

Perry then went on to defeat Wickliffe 4-1 and improved to 9-3 on the year. Alex Guthrie and Dan Walker picked up single wins for Perry over Ivan Luketina and Stephen Dunn (W).

 

Wickliffe’s, Mario Formica defeated Jeff Fabis (P) in a third singles match 6-4, 6-4.


Brennan Sailors and Mike Walker (P) defeated Vince Lanese and Devin Moulton (W) in first doubles.

 

Christian Fatica and Alex Rogaski (P) defeated Matt Dudash and Sean Soknaich (W), in second doubles.
