Still time to sign up for the Jefferson house-lighting contest
JEFFERSON - There’s still time to sign up for the house-lighting contest in the Village of Jefferson.
Take a drive through Jefferson one evening in the winter, and you’ll be able to admire the many lighted homes for the holi- day season.
The village also is lit up with numerous holiday lights this season, and make sure to stop in at Giddings Park for a walk-through holiday-lighting display.
Gazette Newspapers and Village of Jefferson Mayor Judy Maloney once again
want to honor the village residents who help make the town beautiful, so they will be holding their annual Outdoor Lighting Contest, inviting residents to compete for the best-lit home in the village.
Residents wishing to compete this year must fill out and turn in the entry form. Forms, which can be obtained through Village Hall, can be mailed or dropped off to: Lighting Contest, c/o Gazette News- papers, P.O. Box 166, 46 W. Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio 44047.
The winner will receive $50, sponsored by Jefferson Mayor Judy Maloney, and have their name and the year added to a plaque about the contest that is hung in Village Hall.
Although Jefferson’s parade theme is “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” the decorated houses do not have to follow the theme.
Applications are due Dec. 7.
