LCDU working on software upgrade
LAKE COUNTY – As part of the process to do a much-needed software upgrade, the Board of Commissioners passed a resolution July 25 which authorized a contract between Tyler Technologies. Inc. and the Lake County Board of Commissioners on behalf of the Lake County Department of Utilities.
Matt Armand, LCDU director of business operations, stated the department has been using old software for its billing purposes for the past two decades and needed new software which could be serviced.
“We conducted a very comprehensive assessment over the course of probably a year and a half,” he said.
Armand said they contacted about six providers and a number of other counties regarding the software they used. They finally determined Tyler Technologies’ software would best meet LCDU’s needs.
The entire process to replace the old software will take about one year.
Commissioner John Hamercheck stated he was impressed with how much research they did to determine the best software for them to use.
