SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP - Kids for Positive Change students from Ashtabula Area City Schools, Erie Intermediate and St. John School joined forces on July 27-28 at Giant Eagle, in Ashtabula, to raise community awareness about single-use plastic bags harming animals and the environment.

Log Cabin Days, a free frontier festival featuring 1810 Log Cabin tours, wood carving, metal working, copper-kettle cooking, music, homemade pies, bean soup, History of Frontier Ohio Museum exhibit, hiking trail, spring house, food and fun, will be held Sept. 7-8. Free parking, free entry, activities for children at the Blakeslee Log Cabin of the Ashtabula County Historical Society, Seven Hills Road at Route 11 exit. Held noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
