ASHTABULA - In what Charlie Borsukoff of Renew Partners LLC called “great news for downtown,” Renew, a real-estate developer in northeast Ohio, recently received notice that the Ashtabula Main Avenue Historic District has been recommended by the Ohio Historic Site Preservation Advisory Board for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.

ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP – The Black emancipation commemoration holiday Juneteenth was celebrated at Lakeshore Park on Saturday, June 20, with an estimated 150 to 200 attendees enjoying music, food, fellowship and honoring some local leaders in the Black community.

GENEVA – After 40 years working for the City of Geneva and just over five as city manager, Doug Starkey will be stepping down from his position on Sept. 6 to take over as director of the Ashtabula County Department of Environmental Services.

ASHTABULA – Two Ashtabula men are holding a fundraiser on Saturday, June 20, to raise funds for local sports, the Ashtabula County Special Olympics as well as a fund to provide legal aid for protestors arrested and charged during the protests stemming from the killing of George Floyd.
