Commissioners announce $30,000 grant award for Ashtabula County CEAAC

JEFFERSON – The Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners announced Tuesday that Ashtabula County will receive a $30,000 Grant Award from the Edward Bryne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) 2019, through the Office of Criminal Justice Services. The grant will be used to assist in funding operations of the dedicated drug task force in Ashtabula County, known as the Crime Enforcement Agency of Ashtabula County (CEAAC).

I love Ashtabula County and what I love about it the most is the people.  Every day I find a person to be thankful for in our community.  Sometimes it may be the same person on different days, but the efforts put forth by residents of our county purely and unselfishly for the benefit of others never ceases to astound me. 

Cram the Cruiser with Ashtabula County safety forces

The Ashtabula Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol will partner with the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Department and the Geneva-on-the-Lake, Conneaut, Jefferson and Geneva Police departments for the annual “Cram the Cruiser” food drive event.
The food drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 24 at Walmart, 3551 N. Ridge Rd. East, Ashtabula.

The Community Christmas Card - A holiday tradition that has saved local lives for 49 years

GENEVA - Saving local lives by sending holiday greetings to friends and neighbors through the Community Christmas Card is an enduring tradition for hundreds of area families who, for generations, have added their names to the Card by choosing to make a small donation to provide state of the art medical equipment for UH Geneva Medical Center’s Critical Care Unit.  

Women walk away winners at Junior Achievement fundraiser

ASHTABULA - A group of women walked away with new designer handbags on Friday, Nov. 8, as they gathered at the Andrus Banquet Center to raise funds for Junior Achievement of Ashtabula County.
Designer Bag Bingo has become a popular fundraiser for Junior Achievement, with the event being held twice a year.

ASD Rivalry Run to be held Nov. 30

After School Discovery is hosting its inaugural Rivalry Run 5K Race or 1-mile walk on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 10 a.m. on Bridge Street.
This Rivalry Run is celebrating the fun competition that arises from The Ohio State University vs. the University of Michigan Football game on the same day.
