Canceled trip irks Mentor school officials who reimburse parents

MENTOR – A total of 511 Memorial Middle School eighth-graders and their parents are extremely unhappy with a tour company that arranged a May 2 educational trip to Washington, D.C. It was canceled the day before departure without any prior notice and, so far, with no commitment for reimbursement.

PAINESVILLE – In her report from the Parks and Recreation Committee at the April 16 council meeting, Council Member Christine Shoop reported about $10,000 had been raised for the proposed dog park, with a promise for another $10,000.
