Attorney General's Center for the Future of Forensic Science to Study Opioid Field Test Method

COLUMBUS, Sept. 12, 2018—Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Bowling Green State University President Rodney K. Rogers, Ph.D. announced today that the Attorney General's Center for the Future of Forensic Science at Bowling Green State University is part of a team that will conduct a study that could help Ohio authorities safely, quickly, and reliably field test drugs for the presence of opioids.

Brown, Portman Secure Provisions To Protect Lake Erie In Spending Bill Set To Become Law

WASHINGTON, D.C. Sept. 12, 2018– Today, U.S. Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Rob Portman (R-OH) announced final Senate passage of Energy and Water appropriations bill, which includes important wins for Lake Erie. The bill, which now heads to the House before going to the President’s desk to be signed into law, includes language to prohibit the Army Corps of Engineers from dumping toxic material dredged from the Cuyahoga River shipping channel into Lake Erie without the approval from the State of Ohio.
