Wayslaw records 130th career win as Eagles beat Dragons

The Lakeside Dragons wrestling team hosted the Geneva Eagles in a county wrestling match-up on Tuesday, Jan. 16th. Geneva won the match 59-18. Lakeside won all three of their matches by pin in the loss. Johnny Wayslaw, of Geneva, recorded his 130th career win to break the all-time school record.

Lakeside wins rival game over Edgewood

The Lakeside Dragons hosted the Edgewood Warriors in a recent Chagrin Valley Conference basketball match-up. The Dragons won the game 65-50 to improve to 4-6 on the season. With the loss Edgewood fell to 5-5 on the year.

Ashtabula Distance Runners Club holds 2019 Banquet

The Ashtabula Distance Runners Club held their annual banquet on Saturday, Jan. 11th. The ADR has grown considerably over the last couple years. Just in one year the club grew from just over 200 members to nearly 300 members. The club looks to continue to grow during the 2020 racing season. 

Falcons hold off Bulldogs

The Jefferson Falcons girls’ basketball team won their Northeast 8 Conference match-up over the Lakeview Bulldogs 52-46. Jefferson played well enough in the first and fourth quarter to come away with the win and improve to 7-5 on the year and 3-3 in the conference.

Geneva defense stymies Edgewood

On Saturday afternoon it was the stifling Geneva defense that stymied Edgewood in a battle between two Ashtabula County teams in the CVC, as the Lady Eagles soared to a 74 to 22 victory.
 “Defense is everything for us to win games,” Jordan Vencill said.

Petro to play soccer at Lakeland

Hannah Petro, a senior at Edgewood High School, recently signed her letter of intent to play soccer at Lakeland. Hannah is the daughter of Julius and Mary-Helene Petro.

Conneaut wins late over Erie First Christian

The Conneaut Spartans won a late game thriller over the Erie First Christian Eagles on Monday, Dec. 23. Conneaut won 53-50 thanks to the late game heroics of Kyle Woods. Woods finished with 20 points and hit a pair of key shots to give Conneaut the lead late in the fourth quarter.

Lakers fall to Seneca at Laker Shaker

The Pymatuning Valley Lakers fell in a recent wrestling match to the Seneca Bobcats in round four of the Laker Shaker. Seneca won 48-33.
