CONNEAUT – A record number of visitors expected to attend this year’s D-Day Event marking the 75th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944 means that a record number of event volunteers is needed.

2nd Lt. James Lord Is Laid To Rest

CONNEAUT – A few hundred yards away from the Conneaut Dairy Queen sign reading, “Lt. Lord, welcome home,” the remains of World War II pilot and 2nd Lt. Jim Lord were laid to rest Saturday at Center Cemetery where family members had placed a plaque bearing his name some 15 years ago.
