COLUMBUS, July 29 — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of assistance for 12 projects set to create 3,962 new jobs and retain 717 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners.

Senate Passes Brown, Portman Resolution Marking 50 Years Of Environmental Progress Since Cuyahoga River Fire, Senators Call For Continued Action

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 30 – Last night, the Senate passed U.S. Senators Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Rob Portman’s (R-OH) bipartisan resolution marking 50 years of environmental progress since the last time the Cuyahoga River caught on fire on June 22, 1969. The Senate resolution describes how the fire spurred important federal environmental action, including passage of the Clean Water Act and the Clean Air Act.

10 years of recession recovery

July 19 - Ohio’s unemployment rate of 4% is the lowest it has been since 2001. Since the Great Recession ended 10 years ago last month, Ohio has added more than 539,000 jobs. That’s enough to replace the jobs lost to the recession but not enough to keep up with population growth. Visitors to the Nationwide Donahey Land & Living Building will get in-depth, hands-on lessons about farming, food and high-tech agriculture.
